Call to Order: Vice-President Jerry Haines called the meeting to order at the Pizza Ranch in Emporia, Kansas
Recognition of Guests: We were honored to have Marv and Lorraine Rankin, the parents of Carol List and Holiday Ramblers from Iowa, as our guests for the lunch and meeting. They were on their way home from sunny Arizona.
Minutes: The minutes of the last meeting were read by Secretary Jan Crumly. There were no corrections or additions. Skip moved to accept the minutes. Ray seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Skip Evans reported a balance of 1,058.22 which included dues paid by several members. The following have not paid dues: Griffins and Staabs. A bill was presented by the President, Jerry Haines, for brochures about our chapter that were printed. Ray moved that the treasurer’s report be accepted and the bill presented be paid. Elsie seconded it. It passed.
Correspondence: 1. The Presented explained that he was asked to write a reference for Nathan List’s application for a HRRVC scholarship. He passed a copy of the letter around the group. Late Word….! NATHAN HAS BEEN NAMED A HHRVC SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT!!
2. A letter was received from Bev Griffin with possible programs for the Kansas State Rally. The President will see that Gavin Doughty gets the letter.
3. The President received a call from Maria and Jim Rhodes in March to notify him that they are selling their unit and will no longer be in the club. The President will contact them to ask if they would like to be included as emeritus in the club. The group decided that anyone wanting to be emeritus may do so without any fee and we would be honored to have them attend whenever they could.
Committee Reports: None
Rally Reports: There were none.
Old Business: None.
New Business:
1. Prospects Brochure distribution/discussion – The President, Jerry Haines, passed several copies of the brochure to each couple or member to have with them in traveling. The purpose of the brochure is to either hand to prospective members or putting them under windshield wipers, in the RV door, etc. All agreed that they were very well done, very attractive and a good idea. Additional brochures will be distributed to all Sunflower members with encouragement to watch for HR units at WalMart lots, campgrounds, etc. to approach owners about possible membership.
2. 2011 Rally Planning:
A. Oklahoma State Rally – April 27-30. The President, Jerry Haines, notified the members that anyone interested in going to this rally and wanting to caravan should be at the Belles Plain Service Center on the turnpike milepost 26 at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27th. If you want to caravan on to Guthrie to park together, please notify Jerry at (nvrhome1@cox.net) so we know who to look for. There is early parking available but the caravan will not do the early parking. The parking fees are $25.00 per night at the Cedar Valley campground.
B. The Evans and Leeds are the hosts in May 13-15 at Wally’s World. They are planning a very low key, relaxing rally at the farm, with a possibility of eating out one evening. They will be taking a count of those attending later.
C. Colorado Caravan in August: This has been cancelled unless there is someone who would like to take over the planning of the trip. If you wish to do that, contact Jan Crumly. Otherwise, be thinking about what you desire to do in August. The other two options would be to find another place for the rally or to have no rally in August. This will be decided later.
Announcements:
1. Ray Leeds is dealing with prostate cancer but doing well with the treatments. We wish Ray well with the continued treatments. If he or Marilyn needs any help, they know we are all here for them.
Next Meeting: Oklahoma State Rally – April 27-30, Place TBA
Meeting Adjourned by the President
Respectfully Submitted
Jan Crumly, Secretary
